I understand you're having trouble with the ANEF website not recognizing your French spouse visa number. This is unfortunately a common issue that many people face when trying to use the ANEF system. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:
Double-check your visa details:
Make sure you've entered your visa number, start date, and end date correctly. Even a small typo can cause the system to not recognize your visa2.
Contact ANEF support:
If you've verified your information is correct, the next step is to contact ANEF support directly. You can do this in two ways:
-> Call their toll-free number: 0806 001 62034
-> Use the contact form on the ANEF website (look for the "Contact" button at the bottom left of the screen) When contacting support, clearly explain your issue and provide screenshots if possible, showing the error message you're receiving.
Visit a digital reception point:
If you continue to have difficulties, you can visit a digital reception point at your local prefecture or sub-prefecture. They have computers with internet access and staff who can help explain how the ANEF site works.
Be aware of potential system issues:
The ANEF system, especially for registering non-EU spouses of EU citizens, is relatively new and can be buggy. Applications sometimes get lost or sent to the wrong office.
Consider alternative options:
If you continue to face difficulties with the online system, you may need to explore alternative ways to proceed with your residence permit application. This might involve contacting your prefecture directly or seeking assistance from immigrant support organizations.
Remember, while these technical issues are frustrating, they don't affect your legal right to reside in France as the spouse of a French citizen. Keep documentation of your attempts to register through ANEF, as this may be useful if you need to explain any delays in your application process.
