Question that inspired this post:
I am travelling to Paris in July, and my partner has no clue how to get a skip-the-line ticket for the Louvre. What website to use? I have been using booking. come for most of our bookings. But I don’t see a skip-the-line option. Please help. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Answers
"There's no skip-the-line.
If you have a pre-purchased ticket with a timeslot, the line is shorter than buying a ticket on arrival.
I bought it from the official site and am not sure if some third-party companies offer more discounted tickets. There are several posts in the group, so you can search here."
"Haven't been yet, but got them on the Viator website with a guided tour. Hope they work out OK. Viator is owned by Trip Advisor."

Introduction
Visiting the Louvre Museum in Paris is a must for any art enthusiast or tourist. Given its popularity, securing skip-the-line tickets can save you hours of waiting. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to get these tickets and make the most of your visit in July.
1. Booking Directly on the Official Louvre Website
The most reliable way to get legitimate, timed-entry tickets that allow you to skip the main ticket line is by booking directly on the official Louvre website. On this site, you can select your desired date and entry timeslot, ensuring a smooth entry process.
2. Using Authorized Third-Party Sellers
Several reputable resellers offer legitimate skip-the-line Louvre tickets. These tickets are timed-entry, allowing you to bypass the ticket queues. Here are some trusted options:
GetYourGuide
GetYourGuide is a well-known platform for booking tours and activities. They offer skip-the-line tickets for the Louvre, often combined with guided tours.
Tiqets
Tiqets is another reliable site for purchasing museum and attraction tickets, including skip-the-line options for the Louvre.
Viator
Viator offers a variety of skip-the-line tickets and guided tour options for the Louvre. It’s a TripAdvisor company known for its extensive range of tours and activities.
3. Consider a Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Access
Many tour operators offer guided tours that include skip-the-line entry and provide a knowledgeable guide to enhance your experience. You can find such tours on platforms like Booking.com.
4. Avoid Resellers Requiring Voucher Exchange
Some resellers might require you to collect physical tickets from a nearby office before entering the Louvre. This adds an extra step to your visit and should be avoided for convenience.
5. Book Well in Advance
Skip-the-line tickets and tours for popular timeslots tend to sell out quickly, especially during peak seasons like July. Aim to book at least 1-2 months in advance for the best availability.
6. Consider the Paris Museum Pass
If you plan to visit multiple museums and attractions in Paris, the Paris Museum Pass might be a good option. It includes skip-the-line entry to the Louvre and many other sites.
Tips for Visiting the Louvre
Book in Advance: Especially during peak tourist seasons, it's advisable to book your tickets well in advance.
Plan Your Visit: The Louvre is vast, so plan which sections you want to visit to make the most of your time there.
Arrive Early or Late: Even with skip-the-line tickets, arriving early in the morning or later in the afternoon can help avoid the busiest times.
Use the Porte des Lions Entrance: This lesser-known entrance is often less crowded than the main Pyramid entrance.
How to Use Your Tickets
Once you have your skip-the-line tickets, make sure to bring a printed or digital copy with you. Follow the instructions provided by the ticket vendor for entry, and enjoy your visit to one of the world's most famous museums!
By booking directly through the Louvre website or using authorized resellers like GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Viator, you can secure legitimate timed-entry tickets and skip the long ticket queues during your July visit. Happy exploring!
