The question that inspired this post:
Is anyone travelling to Paris for the Olympics? I'm 38 female, from the Philadelphia area, and am looking to go to Paris to see the opening of the Olympics and women's artistic gymnastics. I'm also looking to visit the: Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, go to champagne, the lavender fields and the south of France. I might also do a day in Disney France. After, I think I'm going to hop over to Lake Como and the Amalfi coast. I've never travelled alone and I've only travelled internationally twice so I'm a little nervous if anyone is travelling to any of these areas and would like to meet up please let me know. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on how I can stay safe, that would be helpful. Also, looking for the best website to purchase the Olympic tickets on. Thank you!

Introduction
The excitement of travelling to Paris for the 2024 Olympics, combined with exploring other parts of France and Italy, is undoubtedly the adventure of a lifetime. Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends, here’s a comprehensive guide to help you prepare, stay safe, and make the most of your journey.
Safety Tips for Solo Female Travelers
Travelling alone can be incredibly rewarding, but it’s essential to take certain precautions to ensure your safety:
Accommodation
Book in Safe Areas: Choose accommodations in central, well-reviewed areas. Look for hotels or hostels with 24-hour security and positive reviews from other solo female travellers.
Check Reviews: Use platforms like Booking.com or Airbnb to find suitable accommodations and read reviews thoroughly.
Staying Safe
Avoid Isolated Areas: Especially at night, stick to well-lit, populated streets and use official taxis or ride-sharing services.
Carry Essentials: Keep copies of your passport and ID separate from the originals. Only carry what you need for the day.
Stay Aware: Be mindful of your surroundings. Avoid openly consulting maps to prevent looking like a tourist. Use a cross-body bag to keep your belongings secure.
Stay Connected: Share your itinerary with family or friends and check in regularly. Keep your phone charged and carry a portable charger.
Social Connections
Join Groups: Consider joining solo female travel groups on Facebook to connect with other women for meetups and advice.
Purchasing Olympic Tickets
Securing tickets for the Olympics is crucial for your planning:
Official Tickets: Purchase tickets only from the official Paris 2024 Olympics website. This is the safest way to ensure your tickets are legitimate and recognized at the event.
Ticket Sales: Although the registration for the ticket lottery has closed, additional sales phases will occur later in 2023. Keep an eye on the official website for updates and be prepared to act quickly during these phases.
