The question that inspired this post:
Hi guys, my husband is taking the B1 test in a few weeks to become a French national citizen. He is looking for past papers/example questions, especially on the written part which he is quite stressed about. if anybody can advise it would be great! Thanks
Answers
"This is quite similar to the exercises on our test here"
"I wrote the B1 at the end of last year. The paper is about following the instructions. If you can just do that you will get to pass this section. You will need to write to someone by email or letter or an exposé on something. So, keeping to the format (very NB) and using a formal or informal tone as required throughout out.
It instructions need to be followed by the letter: eg. rewrite the question as your intro stating all the criteria. It might say that you need to give your experience as a resident. Say that you live in the town and give an example of the situation required. NB Put your word count (as accurately as possible) at the bottom. The minimum number of words needs to be adhered to.
You need to use a few connector words to run sentences along.
You need to explain things in order using words likeD'abord, puis, ensuite, enfin
Use at least an example of present, past and future tenses"
