Dernière mise à jour : 14 juin 2024

The question that inspired this post:

Hello Everyone,

I working in France for 5 years, I have Avis d’impo for 5 years and all the documents required for carte de resident.

My titre de sejour will expire in August .

My Questions are:-

1) I am not able to find the appointment in prefecture Bobigny for Renouvellement de titre de sejour. I Check every day but it’s always aucune disponibilité. May I know how I can have an appointment? As I am getting scared.

2)And how to apply for Carte de resident as I don’t find any appointment mentioning carte de resident. Do we have to send all the documents by courier to the prefecture or do we have to make an appointment

Thank you so much in advance.

Answers

"Seriously tell you it’s become a business to make an appointment, especially for the prefecture for 93 departments it’s my own experience, I have been searching appointment desperately for so many months but it seems impossible to take my own you have to buy it will be better"

"Hey keep checking every day from 8 am onwards keep refreshing trust me it will happen. And keep checking on the site when the last appointment was posted on the site. Usually, 8-9 am and then 3 pm and then 8 or 11 pm ish are the times they usually post on Bobigny. I also refreshed every day and I think in a week I was able to find a slot. You have to be very quick once you click on the slot to add your name, foreigner number and email so keep these details also at hand to secure it."

"For point two there is no form in particular if you meet the conditions you can attach a cover letter and add the supporting docs in one of the sections and add it in the notes section that you would like to request for carte de résident and your reasons for it and also add that you have attached the following supplementary documents (language, past titre, ofii medical, contrat d’intégration républicaine) for it etc. Since you are here for 5 years there is a good chance you will get your carte de résident."

Introduction

Renewing your titre de séjour and applying for a carte de résident (10-year residence card) in France can be a daunting process, particularly at the Bobigny Prefecture. Here is a comprehensive guide to help you through the process, including tips for securing appointments and ensuring you have all the necessary documentation.

Steps to Renew Your Titre de Séjour

1. Finding an Appointment for Renouvellement de Titre de Séjour

Securing an appointment at the Bobigny Prefecture can be challenging due to high demand. Here are some strategies to increase your chances:

Frequent Checks

  • Online System: Continue to check the online appointment system multiple times a day. New slots can open up at any time, especially early in the morning or late at night.

Off-Peak Hours

  • Best Times to Check: Try checking for appointments during off-peak hours, such as early morning or late evening.

Alternative Methods

  • Visit the Prefecture in Person: Sometimes, personal visits can help in getting an urgent appointment, especially if your residence permit is about to expire.

Contacting the Prefecture

  • Phone and Email: Try calling the Prefecture’s helpline or sending an email explaining your urgent need for an appointment. Be persistent and polite.

2. Submitting Your Application

If you have already submitted your application for a change of status at the Créteil Prefecture, ensure that all required documents are included. These typically include:

  • Job Offer

  • Authorization de Travail

  • Proof of Residence

  • Supporting Documents

3. Proof of Residence

If you do not have an attestation d'hébergement (proof of accommodation) from someone in Paris, you can use other documents to prove your residence, such as:

  • A rental agreement or lease in your name.

  • Utility bills (electricity, gas, water) in your name.

  • A recent bank statement showing your address.

  • Any official correspondence addressed to you at your current residence.

4. Requesting a Récépissé

Once your application is submitted, you should receive a récépissé. This document is crucial as it provides proof of your legal status in France while your application is being processed.

5. Follow Up with the Prefecture

If you have not received your récépissé, follow up with the Créteil Prefecture. You can do this by:

  • Visiting the Prefecture in Person: Explain your situation and request the status of your application.

  • Contacting Online or Phone: Use their official website or phone number.

Applying for a Carte de Résident (10-Year Residence Card)

1. Preparing Your Documents

To apply for a carte de résident, ensure you have all necessary documents, including:

  • A valid passport.

  • Current valid residence permit or long-stay visa with OFII vignette.

  • Proof of civil status and nationality (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate if applicable).

  • Proof of continuous legal residence in France for the required period (3 or 5 years, depending on your situation).

  • Proof of sufficient financial resources (e.g., tax notices, pay slips, bank statements).

  • Proof of integration into French society (e.g., language proficiency certificates).

  • 3 recent passport-sized photos.

2. Scheduling an Appointment

There is no specific appointment category for the carte de résident on the prefecture website. Submit your application through the "Demande de renouvellement titre de séjour - Pôle vie privée et familiale" category.

3. Submitting Your Application

You can submit your application by appointment or by courier to the Bobigny Prefecture. Start the process well in advance as processing times can be long. If you continue to face difficulties in securing an appointment, consider visiting the prefecture in person or seeking assistance from legal aid organizations.

Additional Tips

1. Online Resources

Use the ANEF (Administration Numérique des Étrangers en France) portal to track your application status and download the necessary forms or certificates.

2. Contact the Prefecture

If you encounter issues, contact the Bobigny Prefecture directly. They can provide specific guidance based on your case.

3. Legal Assistance

If you face significant difficulties, consider consulting an immigration lawyer for professional advice and assistance.
